Memorial Day in Reno Activities and Events

memorial day flagsThis Memorial Day, we wanted to take a moment to thank those who have given so much to all of us. Reno, and the surrounding area, will thank those that have served by offering the following events and activities this Memorial Day: 

Memorial Day Celebration of Heroes Parade:

During the Heroes Parade on May 28, Virginia City will honor all men and women of the military, especially those that have fallen in the line of duty..  The parade begins at 12pm along C Street.

4th Annual Summer Salute:

The Summer Salute hosts 26 classes of cars on display May 28. This event will take place at Rancho San Rafael Park from 9am – 3pm. Benefiting the Veterans Guest House in Reno and the Honor Flight Nevada, this event will also feature food trucks, crafts, vendors, silent auctions, and a raffle.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery:

Hosted by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services, this ceremony will honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. This event will take place Monday, May 30, beginning at 11am at 14 Veterans Way, Fernley, Nevada. Guests will include Governor Brian Sandoval along with other state representatives. 

National Automobile Museum:

All active duty military members and family members will receive FREE admission to this nationally recognized museum from May 27, 2016 – September 1, 2016. The National Automobile Museum is open Monday – Saturday from 9:30am – 5:30pm and Sunday from 10am – 4pm. It is located at 10 South Lake Street. For more information, visit: www.automuseum.org.
