Sip, Savor, and Stay Awhile

by Katie Silva

From tucked-away courtyards to lively beer gardens along the river, Reno knows how to do patio season right. Whether you are meeting friends for a casual drink or settling in for a full evening out, these spots invite you to slow down, sip something refreshing, and stay awhile.

Pignic Pub & Patio

Some places just feel easy, and Pignic Pub & Patio is one of them. The outdoor space is relaxed and welcoming — the kind of patio where conversations stretch on and one round naturally turns into another. With a rotating lineup of beers on tap and a steady calendar of live music and events, there is always something happening without it ever feeling overdone.

Pignic is a go-to for locals who want something unpretentious but thoughtfully done. The patio has that effortless neighborhood feel, where you can settle in for a casual late afternoon and find yourself still there as the sun goes down. Grab a cold pour, share a bite, and enjoy the kind of atmosphere that keeps people coming back week after week.

Pignic Pub & Patio is located at 235 Flint Street in Reno.

The Jesse

Tucked into a historic downtown building, The Jesse offers a patio experience that feels both intimate and vibrant. The courtyard space is open and inviting, perfect for sharing plates and lingering over drinks as the city hums around you.

The menu leans Mediterranean with bold, fresh flavors designed for passing around the table, while the bar delivers seasonal cocktails, wine, and beer. It is the kind of place where brunch turns into cocktails, and no one is in a rush to leave. Whether you stop in for coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening, the patio offers a relaxed setting that feels both stylish and comfortable.

The Jesse is located at 306 E. 4th Street in Reno.

Belleville Wine Bar

For something a little more refined, Belleville Wine Bar brings a European-inspired charm to Reno’s patio scene. The outdoor seating is small and intimate, ideal for a slow afternoon or a date night that calls for something special.

Inside and out, the focus is on a sommelier-curated wine selection paired with shareable bites. Think charcuterie, fresh bread, and a glass of something new that turns into your next favorite. The ambiance has sexy, eclectic vibes with indoor tables as well as couches and bar seating.

Belleville Wine Bar is located at 400 W. 5th Street, Suite 101, in Reno.

The Eddy

If your ideal patio includes sunshine, music, and a little bit of everything, The Eddy delivers. Set along the Truckee River, this open-air beer garden is all about energy and community, with plenty of space to spread out and settle in.

With multiple bars, rotating food trucks, yard games, and live entertainment, it is easy to spend an entire afternoon here without realizing where the time went. The vibe is lively and social, yet relaxed enough to make it feel approachable for everyone. Whether you are meeting a group or just stopping by, The Eddy captures that easygoing Reno spirit perfectly.

The Eddy is located at 16 S. Sierra Street in Reno.

The Emerson

The Emerson offers a patio experience that feels equal parts stylish and effortless. Known for its craft cocktails and small plates, it blends thoughtful mixology with a warm, sophisticated atmosphere that invites you to settle in and stay awhile.

The outdoor patio is intimate and perfect for people watching along one of Reno’s liveliest streets, while the indoor space leans eclectic with mid-century charm. With lively events like dance nights and drag bingo, there is always an energy here that feels fun, welcoming, and just a little unexpected.

The Emerson is located at 955 S. Virginia Street in Reno.
