Assistant Pastry Chef

The Assistant Pastry Chef is responsible for managing and directing the daily production of the Peppermill Pastry Shop.

·Six or more years in high volume pastry production, whether Hotel/Casino, Restaurant or Retail Bakery.

·Must be familiar with all aspect of pastry to include, but not limited to:  specialty bread and rolls, pastries, breakfast pastries, ice creams, sorbets, specialty desserts and showpieces (sugar, pastillage, chocolate, etc.).

·Pastry and culinary background must have an emphasis on teambuilding, interpersonal and managerial skills.

·High school diploma or G.E.D., culinary apprenticeship or culinary school graduate.

·Posses ability to teach, train and motivate pastry team members.

·Ability to implement strategic visions and plans into day to day operations.

·Background of pre and post openings of hotels/casinos, major restaurants or high volume bakeries (preferred).
