Peppermill Casinos, Inc. has grown to be the largest privately owned gaming company in Nevada with six casinos, five with hotels, located in Reno, Sparks, Henderson and Wendover.

The company's modest beginnings were in 1971 when Nat Carasali and Bill Paganetti, two lifelong friends, opened the Peppermill Coffee Shop and Lounge in Reno.

In 1979, Nat and Bill formed a partnership with the Seeno family to expand into gaming. The partnership has spanned decades and is a testament to the trust, respect and integrity that each member shares with the others.

In 1980, with the opening of a small casino and motor lodge units, the Peppermill entered the gaming arena in northern Nevada.

Over the years, the company has grown but its philosophy and commitment have always been the same: outstanding value and service to its customers, exceptional product offerings, respect and loyalty to its employees, and commitment to the community.

The Reno property has undergone nine major expansions and recently celebrated the Grand Opening of its $400 million Tuscan-themed expansion. The expansion features a 17-story hotel tower, spa and salon, three new restaurants, pool, garden and nightclub. Reno's premier hotel casino offers 1,630 rooms with 785 suites, 10 unique restaurants, 16 themed bars and lounges, and over 106,000 square feet of convention space.

The Peppermill and its 2,000 employees have always set the standard in northern Nevada, from being selected one of the "Top 10 Casinos in America" by MSN with CitySearch, to the hundreds of accolades we've received from local, regional and national publications year after year. And, our expansion promises to set that bar even higher. It's a true tribute to both the Peppermill employees and its leadership.

In 1983, Peppermill Casinos, Inc. broadened its base by adding Western Village in Sparks. After several renovations and a 1994 expansion, the Western Village offers 280 rooms, three restaurants and more than 27,000 square feet of gaming space.

Also in 1983, the company expanded to southern Nevada. Peppermill Casinos, Inc. acquired the Rainbow Club Casino. The Rainbow Club in Henderson is a popular neighbor casino with one 24-hour restaurant and 8,800 square feet of casino space.

Only a year later, Peppermill Casinos, Inc. expanded to Wendover, Nevada. Today, the Peppermill operates three casinos in Wendover.

Peppermill Casinos, Inc. has nearly 5,000 employees (includes PCI). The company offers an aggressive benefits program including matching a 401K program, medical and vision plans and has programs comparable to other major gaming corporations in the state.

It is rare in a large business that the employees have a chance to meet, know and interact with its owners. At the Peppermill, this is the case. The owners make it a point to provide ongoing support that empowers and motivates employees on a regular basis.

This same caring spirit extends to the community through their donations to hundreds of programs including the University of Nevada and Reno High School, the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, United Way, NAACP and the Hispanic Social Services. In the aftermath of 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina, both the owners and the company made significant contributions to disaster relief efforts, never seeking or expecting publicity for their generosity.
